October in the Tetons and Yellowstone
One last, quick weekend camping trip to the Tetons and Yellowstone. Rain gave way to snow coating the landscapes in one of the first snows of the season. Fall color is almost gone, the black bears are eating berries as fast as they can and the grizzlies are still high in the mountains eating whitebark pine nuts to fatten up before they go into their dens for the winter.
We did see Raspberry again, eating roots and getting plump. I'm excited to see her again next spring and hope that she does well her first winter alone.
The Tetons, as always are just breath taking and finding 2 large bull moose who one was intent on displacing the other made for an entertaining morning. Can't wait to go back in January!
