The Great Salt Lake, 2016
I have been meaning to get out here all summer; the Great Salt Lake is known for spectacular sunsets, and last night didn't disappoint. I was surprised to see how far out the shore line has receded; it is probably 1/2 mile from the shore but this actually creates a really unique foreground. I also forgot how stinky it is; it is land locked body of salt water that brine shrimp flourish in. It makes up for the smell by providing a serene way to end the day. There were probably 5 or 6 groups of people out here, some playing in the water and some just waiting for the spectacle of the sun setting over the lake. Kindred spirits out enjoying mother nature; it doesn't get better than that.
